Three days after the Fixed Football European Championship ticket North Macedonia has been able to celebrate again. Austria’s first opponent won 2–1 against Estonia in the Nations League in Skopje on Sunday. “Joker” Vlatko Stojanovski (68) gave the home team three points, after being equaled by Estonian striker Rauno Sapinnen (52nd).
On Thursday, the North Macedonians qualified for the European Championships and thus for the first time won a 1–0 win in Tbilisi against Georgia in the Major Finals. Gold scorer was old star Goran Pandey, who was not used this time.
Scotland suffered its first defeat
The Scottish national football team missed a second coup in four days. The following year, following the celebrated qualification for EM, the Bravehearts lost in Slovakia to the League of Nations with a 0: 1 (0: 1). If they had won, the Scots would have been unable to get promoted to the A-League.
Jan Gregus (31st day) scored the day goal in Trnava. A win on Wednesday in Israel would still be enough for the Scots, trained by Steve Clarke, to go up.
On Thursday, Scotland completed their participation in the European Championship with a penalty shoot-out 5-4 in the play-off final against hosts Serbia. Since the 1998 World Cup, the great country has not been represented in the Great Concert.
