Glasgow – Police shot and killed a man in the Scottish city of Glasgow, who allegedly injured several people with a knife. There are currently no other offenders, a police spokesman said on Friday. He spoke of a total of six injured. Among them was a police officer who was seriously injured. But his condition is stable. British media also reported several deaths. Official information on this and possible background for the crime was not initially available in the afternoon.
“I’ve seen people get out of a hotel,” an eyewitness told Sky News. “Police vehicles and ambulances were everywhere on the road.”
Prime Minister Boris Johnson said he was “deeply saddened by the terrible incident that took place in Glasgow”. Scottish Prime Minister Nicola Sturgeon made a similar statement.
Police warned of a serious “incident” in the short message service Twitter, but insisted there was no danger to the public. British media reported heavy armed forces entering a building. Some roads have been blocked, the city administration announced.
