The European Championship participant celebrated a last-minute 3–2 win against Israel in Glasgow and is four points ahead of the Israelis coached by Upper Austria’s Willi Rattensteiner with three games to go.

The fourth-placed OFB team will also be four points behind Scotland after a win in the Faroe Islands.

In a quick game from the start with several chances from both sides, Israel took the lead with a free kick from Aran Jahavi (5th). A flick from John McGuin from the edge of the penalty area (29th) leveled the home team before Munas Dabbar drew 2–1 for Israel two minutes later. Shortly before the break, Lyndon Dykes failed with a penalty against Israeli goalkeeper Ophir Marciano. In a 1–0 victory against Austria in Vienna in September, the striker scored the deciding goal from point.

Despite setbacks shortly before the break, the Scots returned to the game. Dykes scored 2–2 in the 55th minute, although initially the goal was not awarded due to an alleged strain on the attacker’s leg, but it was recognized after the use of VAR. Scots scored a lucky punch from close range after a corner (94th) through Scott McTominay.
