EXCLUSIVEVOGELSBERGKREIS (jal). Exactly how harmful or harmless is the export of Vogelsberger water to Frankfurt? A survey by OL shows: All district lists are in favor of an opinion that clarifies the question. However, free voters do not see the state and district responsible for this.
There are many topics that have been discussed emotionally and emotionally by the people of Voguesburg in recent times. In addition to the expansion of A49 and wolf handling, it certainly includes domestic water exports to the Rhine-Main region. In the latest times when the district called for using Vogelsburgers to lower the water level in summer, referring to the falling water level, the subject boils down again.
The expenses are not in Alsfeld, Schotten or Lauterbach, but in Frankfurt, many Vogelsburgers allege. Residents of the big city must work hard to treat their own water and make it potable. Exports to the Rhine-Main Region endanger the ecosystem of Voguesburg.
It is a way of seeing things. The other takes Frankfurt into conservation and refers, for example, to the complexity of underground water bodies. It is difficult to say what effect it would have on other communities in Vogelsberg when water was put into Shoten for export in Frankfurt. There is also the argument that if water is not won for Frankfurt, water can only flow out of the area through streams and therefore do not accumulate in Voguesburg even without funds.
“Vogelsberg has no more water than Frankfurt”
For this reason, Oberhausen-Live asked all parties and lists to comment on the following statement. “An expert’s opinion on behalf of the district, with the participation of recognized nature conservation organizations, should be clarified as to how harmful or harmless the export of water is to Frankfurt under current regulations. It is for the Voguesburg environment.”
All lists and parties to the left of AfD agree with this statement. Only free voters described their position on the question as “neutral”. But this is apparently only due to the first part of the question (“towards the district”) and therefore more formal reasons, as explained in an interview with Lars Wieke, OL, the top candidate for free voters in the district election. He said, “The district is not responsible for reaching this issue. These are ideas that should be initiated at the state level, ”said the Gribenau mayor.
A resolution on the subject is possible, but from the standpoint of free voters, the move is not honest in the case, as the responsibility lies in Weisbaden. In theory, however, free voters favor a scientific investigation of the connection between the question. A separate expert opinion may be legally possible from the district, but scarce district funds should be used differently. Also, there is more weight in the opinion of an expert on the country.
Should the Free Voters uphold their opinion, but, as is suspected, do not get an absolute majority, the District Council could theoretically initiate such an opinion as the first action by the great consensus of other parliamentary groups .
OL creates information tools similar to “Wahl-o-Mat”
The question on water exports was one of a total of 25 demands, with OL asking parties and lists to take a position with “agree”, “neutral” or “disagree”. Its background is that Oberhausen-Live will provide an interactive information service for district elections, with which voters can easily determine which political group they agree with at most points. The model for this is the famous “Wahl-o-mat”, which the Federal Agency for Political Education offers before major elections. The OL version of the offer will be activated soon.
In addition, five articles will appear at 8 pm this Monday, with the parties answering three open questions each on the political fields of education, health and social affairs, environment and climate protection, the economy and finally tourism. We also asked those people to categorize the importance of individual policy areas from their point of view – beginning with the most important. These results are:
