Best paid managers in the Premier League

In recent times, high profile sackings have been the norm in the Premier League and as the doors swing open for the departing managers, the same have swung in for their replacements. The most recent appointments have seen Claudio Ranieri, Eddie Howe and Antonio Conte return to the Premier League while a Premier League legend, Steven Gerrard has also come in for his first job as manager in the Premier League.

Gerrard, a former Liverpool skipper, has had a great time in Scotland with Rangers FC and steps into the Premier League for a completely new adventure. He will join a number of former Premier League stars in coaching topflight teams but when it comes to earnings, it will be a low start for the former England international.

One of the biggest allures that pull the top managers towards the Premier League is the monetary gain that such appointments come with, and here we assess just how well the managers.

Pep Guardiola: Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola is one of the most respected tacticians in world football at the moment. His time at Manchester City has been trophy-laden and his entire career as a manager glitters. He may have had a few failings here and there, including in the Champions League final last season, but he remains one of the best. In the Premier League, he is the top earner at £20m a year, which translates to £385,000 a week.

Antonio Conte: A former Chelsea manager, the Italian is back in the Premier League after leading Inter Milan to the Serie A title last season. He came on board to replace Nuno Espirito Santo after the Portuguese was sent packing just four months into the job. Conte joins the big earners right away, perhaps because of his profile, at Juventus, Chelsea and Inter Milan. He is on a £15m a year pay, translating to weekly wages of £290,000.

Jurgen Klopp: Liverpool’s German tactician Jurgen Klopp has also enjoyed fine moments in England, after arriving from Borussia Dortmund. He has already delivered the Premier League title and the UEFA Champions League and his profile speaks for itself. His contract extension with the Reds placed him at £15m annual pay, which is £290,000 a week, just as new arrival Antonio Conte.

Klopp’s team faces in-form Arsenal in the next game, which promises to be the biggest on the weekend, and as action returns after the international week, bookmaker offers on Wincomparator will be available for new users. Some of the best offers include the 1XBet one which gives up to $130 as welcome bonus; up to €100 in the Shangrila free bet bonus, up to €122 on 22Bet and an even bigger one, of up to €125 at Betsson, all matched with the initial deposits.

Brendan Rodgers: The highest earning Englishman on the list is Brendan Rodgers of Leicester City. The difference between his earnings and those of Klopp and Conte is substantial, but he still rakes in a good amount. An annual salary of £10m places him fourth in the list, which on weekly wages is about £192,000.

Marcelo Bielsa: Leeds United’s Argentine manager Marcelo Bielsa ranks high among the top coaches. His team may not be high up there with the big names but he has a profile befitting a high earner. He is on a £8 a year pay, translating to £154,000 a week wage, that places him in the top five among the biggest earners.
