19:25 – Scotland has received heavy rain for a few days that will continue on Sunday and Monday, the Met Office has warned, with yellow weather warnings issued for Dumfries and possible flooding in Galloway and Tyside . Bad weather has already caused serious inconvenience, forcing local authorities to intervene in rescue operations even for serious accidents. The BBC writes that “A heavy rain alert has been issued for Sunday, which will affect the Grampian region from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and south west Scotland from 3 a.m. to 6 a.m. on Monday.“. Local authorities have urged the population not to park their cars near rivers, especially near the Nith River due to the worrying rise in water levels. Some parking areas have already been evacuated or embankments. Water seeped in from the river. Local authorities on Wednesday suspended cross-border rail services and advised commuters not to travel. Annan witnessed a significant rise in the water level on the intervening night of Thursday and Friday. Two pedestrian walkways were demolished, the most in 50 years. Flooded fields and houses, overflowing rivers and uncontrollable waters in Scotland’s Dumfries area are going viral on social media and the situation is not expected to improve immediately (cit.
