CHICAGO – Residents of Chicago and suburban Cook County are making last-minute preparations for Sunday with the effect of a taking-day stay-at-home advisory tomorrow morning.

Despite the cold, windy and rainy weather, Costco near Ashland Avenue and Roosevelt Drive was busy on Sunday, as many people were again stockpiling food and other essentials, as we saw back in the spring.

“No one really knows what’s going to happen, you just have to kind of prepare yourself for the worst,” said shopkeeper Ramon Ponce.

Residents are asked to stay at home except for work, school, grocery shopping, testing for COVID-19 or going to the doctor.

In addition, residents are asked to avoid associating with people outside their immediate home and to cancel Thanksgiving plans.

These consultants are less than a full home stay order or lockdown, but officials hope residents will gain control over the increasing case counts and hospital admissions over the past 10 days.

Non-essential travel is also discouraged in the meantime and employees in the business are asked to allow work from home if possible.

Restrictions on indoor dining and bar service have been peaked by Governor Pritzker in most of the states.

In her “Protect Chicago Strategy” announcement earlier this week, Mayor Lightfoot said she hopes people will heed this sitting recommendation so there is no need to take any tougher action.

The advice applies at 6 a.m. Monday, and lasts for 30 days.
