Yangon: People across the country are demonstrating against military rule and demanding the release of Aung San Suu Kyi. Police rallied on Sunday, ransacking the truck, in which hundreds of protesters were evacuated from the truck. Eighteen people died in the shootout. More than 20 other people were injured.

It is noteworthy that military officers stood in support of the police who opened fire. Those injured in the police firing are undergoing treatment at the nearest hospital.

Despite the peaceful protest, the firing by police and soldiers drew criticism. There is also resentment over the capture and imposition of military rule by popular elected leader Aung San Suu Kyi in countries of the world.

The social media giant Facebook already .. is notable for deleting accounts related to military officers. It is learned that US President Joe Biden has recently commented that he is closely monitoring the developments in Myanmar.
