Edinburgh A newly elected member of the Scottish Parliament took his oath of office in German. Robertson was first sworn in in English. Why did they choose two languages when one looks at their family relationships.
On Thursday in Edinburgh, the ruling party SNP politician said, “Angus Robertson pledges to keep a sincere and sincere vow to his Excellency, Queen Elizabeth, his heirs and heirs.” The 51-year-old has a German mother and speaks fluent German.
The former leader of the Scottish National Party (SNP) in the British Parliament and former BBC correspondent won the Edinburgh Central Electoral District in the Scottish capital as a direct candidate in a vote on 6 May. A particularly large number of EU citizens live there who have the right to vote in Scotland. The SNP advocates independence from the United Kingdom and a return to the European Union. It received the highest number of votes so far in the election, but missed out on an absolute majority.
