The Welshman, currently with Tottenham Hotspur, will be “missing a few weeks” according to coach Jose Mourinho.
Bourne suffered an injury in the quarter-finals of the League Cup in Stoke City last Wednesday, Mourinho said. The 31-year-old held a 1-0 lead in the 22nd minute in a 3–1 victory, but was later replaced at halftime. Regarding the absence, the Portuguese said, “I wouldn’t say it’s serious, but it will be a couple of weeks.”
It is therefore unclear whether the Europa League round of 16 against the WAC will fit before the first leg. Wolfsburgers received the “Spurs” on 18 February 2021 in Clagenfurt.
