The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League announced on Monday that the cities of Chitoutimi, Drummondville, Rimouski and Schwinnigan would be the scene of a relaunch of its activities by 22 January.

The second phase in a protected environment, one after another at the Videotron Center in Quebec City, will therefore take place from 22 to 24 January.

During this weekend, Saguenéens, Voltigeurs, Océanic and Cataractes will host two other teams that will play two games every three days.

The next few days will reveal the calendar for these visiting clubs and each bubble.

Three of Bubble City, Chitoutimi, Drummond and Rimouski, will then host the third phase in a protected environment from 29 January to 6 February.

In this revised edition of Bubble Cities that would then include four teams, each of the amphitheatres would see a holding of two matches per day. A total of 12 doubles would thus span 9 days, i.e. 6 matches per team (2 against the formation of their own bubble).

The announcement comes after constructive conversations with Quebec public health officials and a positive review of our first protected event held in Quebec a few weeks ago. […] This type of incident has, at the moment, become the best solution to achieve our goals., QMJHL, undersigned the Commissioner of Gilles Court.

As for the Maritimes, the situation will be relied upon again after the Christmas holiday.

The QMJHL expects the six teams based in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island to play their games in the normal format of the calendar starting January 21.
