QMJHL: Islanders have to take revenge on Halifax, Titan defeated Wildcats a lot

Halifax – Thomas Casey had two goals and an assist and the Charlottetown Islanders beat the Halifax Mooseheads 5–1 on Friday night.

The Islanders got their revenge against Mosheheads, who ended their opponents’ 17-game winning streak on Wednesday.

Casey came within two points of his teammate Cdric Desruisseaux for the top scorer in the QMJHL. Desruisseaux received a mention of assistance on Friday.

Brett Budgell had a goal and two assists as Bailey Peach and Lucas Cormier once pivoted for the Islanders, who joined the Val-d’Or Fours overall.

Colton Ellis needed only 14 runs to record his 22nd win this season. The Prince Edward Island troupe easily leads the Maritime section of the Akadi-Bathurst Titan’s past.

The next NHL draft prospect Robert Orr was the only one to find the back of the net for Mosheheads.

Alexis Grewal allowed four goals on 35 shots and was replaced by Brady James, who conceded once in 11 shots for Team Nova Scotia.

Kidney decides in favor of Titan

Riley Kidney broke the deadlock late in the third round and the Ekadi-Bathurst Titan beat the Moncton Wildcats 3–2.

On the power play, Kidney completed the staging of Matthew Designes and Adam McCormick to give the Titan a 3–2 lead.

Julien Bourg scored the first QMJHL goal and Bennett McArthur added a goal for the Titan, which won the second straight game.

Jacob Hudson and Owen Stammer responded for the Wildcats, who suffered a second defeat.

John Bednar returned 25 of the 25 boxes made for Titan. Opposite Nicholas Shehan made 20 in front of the Wildcats’ cage.
