Best FIFA Football Awards ™ - News - 55 Players with the Most Votes

Robert Lewandowski and Manuel Neuer are two of a total of eleven Bayern Munich players in the FIFA World 11 – Main 2020 list of the 55 most voted players.

Following the impressive victory of the UEFA Champions League, it is hardly surprising that German record champions can choose an entire team. It is notable, however, that Bayern’s six nominees were not there in recent years: David Alaba (last represented in 2017), Thiago Alkenatara (2017), Jerome Boteng (2017), Philippe Sinciho (2018), Manuel Neuer (2017)) and Thomas Müller (2016).

The only Bayern players in last year’s selection were Joshua Kimich and Robert Lewandowski. Three Bayern players are on the list for the first time, Alfonso Davis, Serge Gnabry and Leon Gortzka.

Along with Thiago and Coutinho, the two players have since been reigning Champions League winners. The current list of 55 players includes eleven new faces, including Norwegian Erling Brut Holland, Gabonese Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Portuguese Bruno Fernandes, and two Englishmen Dele Alli and Jordan Henderson.

FIFA and FIFPRO will announce World 11 for the 2019/2020 season on Thursday 17 December.

Earlier, FIFPRO and FIFA invited all professional footballers in the world to vote. Players were asked to describe what they thought were the most outstanding footballer in the goal, defense, midfield and forward sections. The most votes come in World 11, with the goalkeeper and three defenders, three midfielders and three strikers. The remaining place in World 11 goes to the field player who receives the next highest number of votes.

The list includes 55 players:
