Innsbruck / Villach – Monday, June 28, 2021, 12:40 pm.
HC Innsbruck introduced 64-time EHV team player Martin Ulmer as a new addition.
The 33-year-old comes from VSV, where the contract which is still valid for the 2021/22 season will be terminated “by mutual agreement”.
In Villach they regret the decision: “Martin had a very difficult year last season. After considering all sporting and economic factors, we have now decided to let Martin go to Innsbruck despite a valid contract, ” says VSV coach Rob Daum.
The former Swiss legend – Ulmer played in National Leagues A and B from 2011 to 2019 – is looking forward to his new role: “Head coach Mitch O’Keefe and board assistant Max Steinker worked hard for me. It impressed me That’s why I really wanted to come to Tyrol.”
The Dornburn native explains, “I think we have a good team with a lot of young, local players. I want to be one of the key players, help the youngsters and give them some of my experience. ”
And HCI chief advisor O’Keefe insisted: “Martin is a really experienced local player that we need to lead and bring to the fore in our young cracks. He has proved himself often enough to be at the highest level.” Can play and score, and will do much better in one attack.”
