How and when is the Rugby World Cup going on?
The Rugby World Cup in Japan will take place from 20 September to 2 November. This is the ninth World Cup in history and the first in Asia since 1987. It grows every four years. Organizers expect up to 1.8 million fans and three billion viewers in front of the TV or on stream worldwide. This makes the Rugby World Cup the third largest sporting event in the world after the Olympic Games and the Soccer World Cup.
How is the World Cup mode?
20 teams participate in the World Cup. The preliminary round is fought in four groups of five. The first two finishers each qualify for the quarterfinals. The knockout phase is starting from October 19.
