Data visualization: Grafana 9.0 taps into Prometheus and Loki

The data visualization software Grafana is available in version 9.0. It brings query builders for Prometheus query language PromQL and Loki query language LogQL. These should make it easier for Grafana users to import complex monitoring and log file data from Prometheus and Loki.

Grafana is software for flexible and clear visualization of data from a variety of sources. It should be used to create meaningful dashboards and visualizations as easily as possible. Together with the monitoring software Prometheus and the log analyzer Loki, Grafana is an important standard tool for monitoring IT infrastructure – from individual server usage to the overall state of complex Kubernetes clusters. Data scientists use Grafana to demonstrate complex relationships.

Grafana 9 also brings a new, significantly faster heatmap panel and – as a beta version, exclusively must be active – A graphical overview of all available dashboards, called preview with. There have also been improvements to the search, alert and navigation bar. Grafana Enterprise now uses role-based access control (RBAC) by default.
