ABU DHABI, December 22, 2020 (WAM) – The applied research column of the Abu Dhabi Institute of Technological Innovation (TII), Advanced Technology Research Council (ATRC), announced on Tuesday that its Center for Cryptography Research Institute (CRC) has become the first national And created the sovereign crypto-library.
The milestone is set to enable the country to protect important and confidential sources of information.
Since the first meeting of the Advanced Technology Research Council Board of Directors in August 2020, a series of quick announcements have developed in TII.
Researchers at CRC, one of the first seven research centers dedicated to the Institute of Technological Innovation, have already released several versions of the crypto-library and are working on its seamless integration into Arab Emirates’ critical digital infrastructure . United (UAE).
CRC currently works and collaborates with scientists in many important areas of cryptography such as post-quantum cryptography (PQC), hardware cryptography, lightweight cryptography, cryptanalysis, cryptographic protocols, and cloud encryption schemes. among others. It is one of the few global centers that brings together theoretical and applied cryptographers in a research-driven framework for innovative results.
In the announcement, ATRC Secretary-General, Faisal Al Bannai said: “The never-evolving sophistication of cyberbaitax should be allowed. By developing and integrating a national crypto-library in the UAE.” Important digital infrastructure, we ourselves can increase our security level and build sovereign capability simultaneously. “
By leveraging a combination of symmetric and custom asymmetric cryptographic preferences, the National Cryptographic Library has been designed, developed and tested to protect sensitive data and information. A library is a set of algorithms that cryptographers use in a specific order to protect secret and high-security information.
CRC chief researcher Drs. Nagwa Aarz said: “The integration of the National Crypto Library with on-line systems will enable a smooth security strategy in critical data-sensitive areas such as finance, health. And telecommunications.
TII is a leading global research and development center focused on applied research and new-age technological capabilities. It has seven initial research centers dedicated to quantum, autonomous robotics, cryptography, advanced materials, digital security, directed energy and secure systems. By working with exceptional talent, universities, research institutes and industrial partners worldwide, the institute connects an intellectual community and contributes to building a research and development ecosystem in Abu Dhabi and the United Arab Emirates.
