The inaugural game, two quarter-finals and finally the semi-finals and finals will be played at the Stade de France. The stadium, which was built for the 1998 Football World Cup, is the tournament’s largest stadium with 80,000 seats. Other places are Marseille, Lille, Bordeaux, Toulouse, Leone, Nice and Saint-Etienne.

“I am very happy to work with the 2023 France team, which made it possible to reach an agreement quickly,” said Stade de France managing director, Alexandra Boutlier, unlike Ledissip.

The stadium is also very experienced in the finals: both the 1998 FIFA World Cup final and the UEFA Euro 2016 final were played at Saint-Denis with French participation. It will also be used for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

The 2007 Rugby World Cup final was held at Stade de France, when South Africa defeated the English national team. France co-hosted the tournament with Wales and Scotland, but in 2023 the tournament will take place entirely in France. (14.10.2020)
