The global film community calls for the release of Tatsiana Hatsura Yveska

– In an open letter to authorities, film festivals, organizations and institutions expressed their concern about the arrest of the director of the Belarusian festival.

The world film community has expressed shock and concern over the arrest of Belarusian cultural activist and human rights defender Tatsiana (Tania) Hatsura Yveska. The director International Film Festival WATCH DOCS Belarus On 5 April in Minsk with several other human rights defenders.

We, undersigned representatives of human rights film networks and film festivals around the world, call upon the authorities of the Republic of Belarus to immediately and unconditionally release Tatsiana Hatsura Yveska, director of the International Film Festival Wat SOCS Belarus and Zevano Educational. Non-governmental organizations and others deported human rights defenders of their freedoms.

It was with great concern that we received information that criminal proceedings had been taken against Tatsiana Hatsura Yveska. We urge the Belarusian government to respect Tatsiana Hatsura Yveska’s right to freedom of expression and personal freedom. Hatsura-Yvorska has made significant contributions to Belarusian culture and shares worldwide to promote our global film community, which includes Watch Docs Belarus. The WATCH DOCS International Human Rights Film Festivals in Belarus – belongs to the family of the Human Rights Film Network.

We will not forget our dear colleague Tatsiana.
