The New Orleans Saints found a way to survive in “Windy City” as Will Lutz scored a game-winning 35-yard field goal in overtime on Saturday night, trailing the Chicago Bears’ comeback. The Saints took a 10-point fourth-quarter lead in a 26-23 victory, but Drew Bryce and Alvin Camara ensured the Saints continued their momentum with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the NFC South Race.
Breeze is – once again – in touchdown as the NFL’s career leader passes with 560, the first quarterback in league history to pass 560 touchdown passes. He led the Saints on a seven-play, 52-yard drive for the win. In the game-winning drive, Bryce was 3 wickets quick for 20 yards, but a 20-yard run from the Bears 31 set Lutz up for a chip shot field goal and victory. Kamara finished with 163 total yards, including nine catches for 96 yards to lead New Orleans. Bryce finished 31 of 41 for 280 yards and two touchdowns.
Falls struggled at different times, but had a clutch in the fourth quarter to bring the game to overtime. The Bears went 3-22 to find Darnell Mooney for a 3-yard touchdown to cut the Saints to 6 for 6 for 55 yards quarterback. After Kamara was stopped at 3rd and 4th by Danny Trevathan on a three-yard loss, Falls took 12 bears, a bear on a 35-yard drive – third and Anthony Miller on a 15-yard pass – 18 in the final seconds of the overtime push regulation 51. -To set Cairo Santos for yard field goals.
Falls finished 28 of 41 for 272 yards with two touchdowns and one interception, while David Montgomery finished with 21 carry of 89 yards with a loss. Len Lynn Robinson, with 87 receiving yards and a touchdown, leads Chicago as the Chicago NFC fails to overtake the Green Bay Packers for first place in the North.
