Macedonia will play its first Euro. Slovak, Hungarian and Scots will accompany it.
We are finally there! Twenty months after the first qualifying matches, 24 flags will be revealed to be hung in Euro’s stadiums. Hungarian feat
After causing sensation at Euro 2016, Icelanders will not have the opportunity to repeat their might. Of course, the selection of Erik Hamren led to the entire meeting in Hungary. But the evening finally turned into a nightmare.
The Hungarian pushed to equalize in the second half. Until the efforts at 88minute paid off through Loïc Nego. Not as synonymous with splitting overtime, the Magyar selection gave everything to overthrow the Icelanders at the end of the suspense (90th + 2: 2-1). Hungary is in the death group with France, Germany and Portugal …
Slovakia isolating itself
There is no doubt that Slovak will no longer be welcomed in Ireland. Whether in the north or south of the island. The winner of the Republic of Ireland in the semi-finals of the play-off, Slovakia returned cover against the Northern Irish. But it came close to this. The Northern Irish snatched the extra time before Slovakia emerged (1-2).
Mitrovich’s failure
The evening was even longer and tense in Belgrade. At the helm a long time Scottish team was joined by Serbia in the 90th minute (1–1). The extra time was not given. It was a miss from Alexandar Mitrovich to propel Scotland to their first Euro since 1996. The Scots joined Group D of their English neighbors.
