The donation includes attorney fees for Arbery and Taylor’s families, along with businesses owned by blacks in crisis in his native Chicago and other cities.

West’s representative said he established a 529 educational plan to fully cover tuition fees for George Floyd’s 6-year-old daughter Gianna Floyd.

West’s donation comes in the wake of mass protests across the country after death. Many entertainment voices call for an end to systematic racism, police brutality and political leadership.

Three of the Minneapolis police officers arrested in Floyd’s death make their first appearance in court on Thursday afternoon, while the Floyd family holds the first of several planned memorial services.

Derek Chauvin, the officer who blocked Floyd’s neck for nearly 9 minutes, was arrested last week and charged with third-degree murder and second-degree murder. Last Wednesday, prosecutors accused him of a more serious second-degree murder count.

Arbery, a black man, was shot to death while jogging just outside Brunswick, Georgia on February 23. Three white men were arrested in his death.

Taylor was an EMT who was killed at least eight times in March when three officers entered his Kentucky apartment by force. The FBI has launched an investigation into his death.
