The Scottish First Division Championship resumed on Saturday, 31 July 2021. Some clubs have disappointed and others have done well at the start of the competition.

The Scottish Premiership was inaugurated by defending champions Rangers FC. Against Livingstone, the Light Blues enforced their ranks by winning the game by a score of 3–0. The win allows Rangers to sign the 40th game in the league without a loss.

The biggest surprise of the day on Saturday is the poor entry in the hoops competition. Ange was surprised by Postecoglu’s Falls Hearts of Midlothian, who had recently been promoted to the aristocracy. With the two teams tied (1–1), Celtic FC conceded the third goal of the game in the last minute of regulation time and lost the game by one to two goals.

Two matches were played on Sunday. Aberdeen did not give Dundee United a chance to surprise him at all. The Dons won the game 2-0. Later that evening, Motherwell FC hosted Hibernian FC. The latter won the game (2–3), thanks to a penalty marked by Martin Boyle.

In short, 6 matches have been played for the first day of the Scottish Premiership, with a total of 17 goals scored. Rangers FC, Aberdeen FC, Hibernian FC and Hearts of Midlothian are the four clubs with 3 points after Matchday 1 of the Scottish League.
