Before getting behind the wheel, and driving on the muddy track, the Duke of Cambridge received some clarification about the SUV from Katie Munnings, who competes for the Andretti United Extreme E team. William also had to talk to the developers of the technology, telling them not to go into too much detail and jokingly saying that too much technical information would confuse him.
