Scotland: Rangers looking for Steven Gerrard’s successor

Knowing that Steven Gerrard’s departure is almost on record, Rangers’ management may have begun the process of his succession. The Scottish press has revealed several names that are in the papers to replace the English manager.

Rangers are said to be close to turning over Steven Gerrard Page. The Light Blues’ management are already looking for a replacement for the former Liverpool midfielder. The English manager is about to finalize a deal that will take him to Villa Park. In the event of a departure, the loss of Steven Gerrard would be a blow to defending champions Scotland. As it is the day before the decider matches against Hibernian (Premier Sports Cup) and Sparta Prague (Europa League) to dream of a perfect season in Scotland.

Rangers athletic director Ross Wilson is now overseeing the recruitment process for Gerrard’s successor. Several names already feature prominently, including former Ranger stars Gennaro Gattuso, Derek McInnes and Kevin Thomson. Dutchman Giovanni van Bronkhorst was also presented as a potential target. The latter is looking for a new project in Europe after living in China (Guangzhou R&F). Giovanni van Bronkhorst, 46, was also the coach of Feyenoord (Netherlands).
