Scotland supports Italy. Mancini as Braveheart: “Roberto, you are the last hope”

Scotland supports Italy. Mancini as Braveheart:

Owl with empathy and great originality. Scotland, at least pro-independence, has chosen which side to stand on Sunday evening

Owl with empathy and great originality. Scotland, at least Independence One, have chosen which side will be on Sunday evening, when they face each other at Wembley. Italy and England to decide the European champion nation. In those parts, in fact, they would be all or almost all of the Azurri, for obvious political, social and all historical reasons. And Italian coach Roberto Mancini is now seen as the last hope to avoid the teasing and self-celebration of the whole crowd.

Like William Wallace, like Mel Gibson in Braveheart, the famous film that chronicled the adventures of a Scottish patriot in the struggle for independence against England in the thirteenth century. And this is exactly how The National, a newspaper representing freedom-minded Scotland, featured Mancini on the front page, then wrote:

Save us Roberto, you are our last hope. We can’t tolerate that they (British, ed) are ‘banging’ over it (European Victory, ed)“.
