Traveling again: Queen flew to Sandringham – dpa

nAfter a long break and a short Christmas at Windsor Castle, Queen Elizabeth II traveled to her home country in eastern England.

The British news agency reported on Sunday afternoon that the Queen had been helicoptered to Sandringham and would remain there for a few weeks.

The Queen usually spends the winter weeks until 6 February, the anniversary of her accession to the East English country estate. This year marks the 70th anniversary of the event. However, the big platinum jubilee celebrations are not scheduled to take place until early June – the anniversary of the coronation.

However, in other winters, the Queen travels to Sandringham before Christmas. However, due to the coronavirus pandemic, the 95-year-old decided to cancel the large family Christmas for the second year in a row and stay at Windsor Castle, where some of her children and grandchildren had visited her. The Queen had previously taken a few weeks of health rest after doctors advised her to cancel public appearances in Northern Ireland and Scotland due to ill health.
