In times of epidemics, public health is more important than the well-being of the planet, as the Greens of Germany had to learn a difficult path. As sympathy for the election erupts around the Covid-19 crisis-stricken Angela Merkel, the opposition’s zealots have lost much of the momentum they have gained over the past 12 months.
And yet, paradoxically, the prospect of an environmental party entering government in 2021 has never seemed so great.
The German Greens, who have been in parliament since 1983 and formed a government with the center-left Social Democratic Party (SPD) between 1998 and 2005, will renew their profile and election hopes over the past two years:
South Korea has the lowest number of daily cases in three weeks
Three schools in Tesid confirm coronavirus cases but will not be closed
India sees a world record one-day case total of over 90,000
Australia Australia has been admitted to the AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine
