The chairman was set to oversee the second phase of track construction in the UAE connecting the two major emirates. The test train traveled 10 km from the construction site of Saih Shuhaib to Abu Dhabi and Dubai. In the second phase, the biggest project to integrate Saudi Arabia’s border with Guwahati with Fujairah, with a range of 1,000 km, is currently in progress.

The construction of four lanes is in progress by constructing bridges and canals without obstructing the habitat of wildlife and without obstructing their movement. The route is expected to have 35 bridges and 15 tunnels. About 59 per cent of the work on the 139 km long road connecting Ruwais with Guwahati has been completed.

The first phase of Etihad Rail from Habshan to Ruwais has now become operational. The track is constructed using special techniques in the desert sands. There are also plans to connect with Saudi Railways once the UAE rail network is completed. With this, there will be major changes in the transport sector in the GCC countries.
