In an address to Parliament, the British Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, yesterday declined four steps, which should mark deconfiguration across the channel.

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said yesterday that by presenting a decisive strategy for the summer to return to almost normalcy. By deconfining too late and too early, accusing the chaotic management of the coronavirus epidemic so far, the tenant at 10 Downing Street has detailed plans to end the crisis in four main steps.

“We cannot last indefinitely with restrictions that undermine our economy, our mental and physical well-being, and the opportunities for our children’s lives,” Boris Johnson told lawmakers. “That’s why it’s important that this roadmap be prudent, but also irreversible.”

Vaccination success

The most bereaved country in Europe, with about 121,000 dead, the United Kingdom limited itself for the third time at the beginning of the year. However, the large-scale vaccination campaign that was put in place at the end of 2020 has led to a reduction in contamination, hospitalization, and deaths. By mid-April, more than 50 people should be partially vaccinated, then all adults by the end of July. “I basically believe that the vaccination program has been a game-changer in our favor,” Boris Johnson said. According to a Scottish study published yesterday, the currently given Pfizer / Bioentech and AstraZeneca / Oxford vaccines have reduced hospitalizations by 85% and 94%, one after the other, respectively.

A tonnage of 10,000 people in the stadium

By extension, the schools will reopen on 8 March, with regular testing in secondary schools. From March 29, the order to stay at home will be lifted and outdoor gatherings limited to six people or two separate houses will be authorized.

Non-essential stores, hairdressers, pubs – but only outside – and museums will have to wait until April 12. Movies, hotels, stadiums (with a maximum of 10,000 people), hotels and restaurants (indoors) will run on May 17, the day members of different houses can meet indoors.

If health conditions prevail, the ban on social contacts will be lifted at the earliest on 21 June, as telecom will dictate.

According to the Prime Minister, any decision to relax the restrictions will be taken based on scientific data at their disposal, such as the effectiveness of Kovid’s vaccines, the decline in hospitals and the presence of new variants.

Facing the severe economic impact of the epidemic, Boris Johnson has promised to continue supporting jobs, saying the measures will be detailed when the budget is presented on 3 March.
