in the office
Was there a Plan B covid action behind the coaster after a long night at the Whitehall bar?
How do you explain a rule that tells employees to stay out of the office for fear of spreading mutant Omicron tensions – but says it’s okay to sit at the pub with coworkers?
There have been some orders from COVID bartending over the past two years, such as buying Scottish eggs as ‘enough food’ to be able to order just one pint.
But PAM – propaganda work – is by far the most absurd example of what happens when the government, without proper thought, presses the panic button.
Conservative lawmakers aren’t happy and are threatening to vote against Plan B, which also includes vaccine passports and mandatory masks in most indoor public places (unless oddly enough, you’re singing at the time.)
Well, they wonder when ministers will finally admit that we need to find a way to live with the virus instead of trampling our freedoms and our economy.
Fair game to the savvy masses hit by the lockdown, however, to quickly exploit the latest loopholes, while offering a special offer for all PAM converts.
Productivity may not be great, but bosses will soon find their employees more sympathetic to the idea of overtime.
Overtime, gentlemen, please!
passport control
Health Secretary Sajid Javid said yesterday that mandatory vaccines outside the NHS and social workers are “ethically bad” and “simply won’t work.”
we agree.
But can the same not be said about the vaccine “passports”, which are now in the process of being introduced in England?
Where similar programs have been introduced elsewhere, such as Scotland and Wales, they have not had much impact.
Austria, the Netherlands and Germany have it, but have been hit hard by the endemic Covid pandemic.
A UK study earlier this year found that the Covid pass would actually force vaccine denials to go deeper.
It was not until September, when backbench Conservative lawmakers withdrew from the actual creation of a two-tier society, that Mr Javid said vaccine passports were not on the table.
A serious side-effect of COVID is that if the prevention mission is not taken care of, then unimaginable norm can become.
Anand’s Bumblebee
Much of this week’s headlines didn’t make reading a pleasure for Boris Johnson.
But we congratulate the Prime Minister and his wife, Carrie, on the arrival of a baby girl tomorrow – and how special Boris is.
Only someone with a particularly lucrative life can be having one of the worst moments of their career and still be able to view it as having at least one wonderful moment week.
