Contrary to what was anticipated, Pope Francis will not go to Glasgow for COP26 on the climate. In response to questions from journalists regarding the participation of the Holy See in sessions of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP26), Scheduled in Glasgow from 31 October to 12 November, I can specify that the delegation will be led by His Holiness’s Secretary of State, His Excellency Cardinal Pietro Parolin, who was announced today as Matteo Bruni, Director of the Vatican Press Office.
