I Dogs are man’s best friend. Dogs are fun and very affectionate, as well as being very useful to humans. National Geographic notes that more than 50,000 dogs in the United States selflessly help people by displaying a wide range of skills, such as assisting with recovery processes for cancer, post-traumatic stress disorder, and dementia.
But today dogs will make a special place in the hearts of men for one more reason: l‘Liquor. Food & Wine reports that distillery of whiskey Grants in Scotland hired a dedicated dog to make sure its whiskey products are of the highest standard.
Renowned for its Glenfiddich brand, William Grant & Sons (which has an annual turnover of around £1.5 billion according to the Scottish Financial Review) has employed the services of a Cocker Spaniel Tackling the important task of ensuring whiskey casks are delivered smoothly to customers at their distillery in Girvan, South Ayrshire.
Rocco, a one-year-old puppy, will use his sense of smell to spot any imperfections in the wooden barrels used to store whiskey (as Mashed.com reports). In case of problems, Rocco will inform his boss.Chris Woof, Grant’s Whiskey Global Brand Associate Director (yes, it’s true).
But Rocco’s job isn’t as easy as one might think, in fact Food & Wine reveals that the dog had to undergo six months of rigorous training, who focused on teaching him how to spot the various odors inside wooden barrels and communicated his findings in a way that was indistinguishable to humans. In exchange for these services, Rocco will remain the same. luxury life, living in a kennel with a caregiver available to fulfill your every wish.
