After lifting restrictions, the number of new cases of Kovid-19 in the Netherlands is increasing rapidly

The Dutch National Institute for Public Health and Environment (RIVM) reported that this was the highest number of coronavirus cases recorded daily since May 14.

In the Netherlands, about 800 new infections were recorded in 24 hours just a week ago. In the past seven days, the Netherlands has recorded 67 infections per 100,000 residents.

As the virus spreads more rapidly, the government is considering new measures to tackle COVID-19.

The Netherlands lifted almost all restrictions on 26 June, and masks are currently only to be worn on public transport in that country. The need for social distancing is still valid, but not everywhere.

The number of new cases of Covid-19 has risen as the most infectious strain of the virus delta, or India, is spreading in the country, although this has not yet increased the number of people hospitalized.

Young people are increasingly getting sick, and many are believed to be infected in bars and cafes.
