SCHOTTEN – The CDU wants to become the strongest parliamentary group in the new city council of Shotens in local elections on 14 March. Along with Michael Altmüller, Tobias Hussohn, Ina Schulmeier, Hans-Jürgen Joakim and Bern Reidman, the Christian Democrats present their top quintet, topping the list of candidates for a total of 26 women and men. Bern Reisman’s return to the list of proposals for the new parliament is a bit surprising.

The former chairman of the Chief, Finance and Economic Committee resigned from his mandate in November 2016 as a city councilor. The reason for this was the decision on parking fees at the Hohrodskopf and Nida reservoir, which provides discounts for motorcyclists. Reissmann campaigned strictly to use motorized two-wheelers to pay parking fees.

Among the current city councilors of CDU, Werner Appel, Nico Doll, Drs. Mario Lloso and Heiko Weehler. Gunter Demer, Lothar Niese, Klaus Ostheim, Niklas Lingner, Drs. Torsten Frecht, Berned Vonerheide, Axel Wingfield, Carolyn Appel, Claus-Dieter Fisher, Margit Wallisch, Willie Appel, Horst Hildebrand, Kurt Shekerman, Barbara-Christine Stephanie-Weldon, Jürgen Schulmeyer, Sabille Rehle, Sabel Rehgel and Irene Bugle.

“All the candidates were elected unanimously and Shoten ensure constructive and unconditional cooperation in the city’s parliament,” emphasized Speaker Hans-Jürgen Joakim at the general meeting held under the Corona rules in the celebration hall. “It is about the well-being of Scottish citizens and their city,” said Joakim. “We managed to make a top-tier nomination with 26 applicants for the local election, and we want to play an important role in shaping urban politics,” the chairman said happily. In addition to well-known and longtime voluntary politically active actors, well-known names are also reactivated. We are particularly pleased to find new and young faces on the list.

In his speech, Michael Altmuller, president and top candidate of the parliamentary group, once again pointed out that there was no party or parliamentary party obligation in the Shotten CDU, which also meant that independent candidates could be won. While voting, everyone is bound only to themselves and to their discretion, as laid down in the municipal code. Tobias Hushon is certain that in the coming years, problems at the local level can only be solved together. For this reason, as has already been successfully done in previous years, joint lists were advised and supported at the level of local councils. It met with wide positive response and was then implemented.

Also Dr. Vogelsberg CDU President Jens Mischak, who presided over the meeting, Schottner Union was also able to welcome local state parliamentarian Michael Ruhl, who reported on state politics. He stressed that during the epidemic, in addition to supporting the economy, strengthening Hessian municipalities was also important to overcome income losses and maintain their ability to function. In addition to compensation for business tax losses by federal and state governments, revenue from municipal financial compensation would be stabilized. The country is providing a total of three billion euros for this.

One is also relieved that there were no serious injuries as part of the protests to close the gap on the A49. The police did an outstanding job and implemented democracy and the rule of law. Mishach reported the current general conditions of the condition of the corona in the district and the complete construction of a vaccination center in Eelsfeld. “The Corona epidemic has shown that rural areas like Voguesburg have become more popular and attractive. Our job is to make people who want to live here make an attractive offer to live, live and work in the country.” The CDU chief said. He called on the candidates present to focus on relevant material in the election campaign and stand up confidently for the Shotten and Voguesburg district.
