Climate, Scottish bishops confirm Pope's presence at Glasgow conference

Roma – Reaffirms the will of the Scottish Episcopal Conference Pope Francesco To travel to Glasgow in November to attend COP26.

The Scottish Bishop’s spokesman declared: “The Scottish Bishops express their support in praying to Pope Francis as he recovers from his recent surgery”, adding: “The Holy Father assures him of a warm welcome. After giving, should he attend the conference, I am pleased to learn that he looks forward to attending and will be pleased to meet him in Glasgow.”

That note adds: “The Pope will be in Scotland for a very short period, much of which will be devoted to the COP26 conference. While many pastoral, ecumenical and interfaith meetings would be desirable while he is with us, unfortunately time constraints mean That such a complete program would not be possible.”
