European Tour: Otegui Victory in Scotland

Adrian Otaegui won the Scottish Championship presented by AXA after an impressive final round. At Fairmont St Andrews, Otagei gave the club house a three-shot lead. The runner-up at 54 holes is Matt Wallace, while Aaron Roy is in third place. Hurley Long finished the tournament in 51st place, 65th shared by Marcel Schneider.

European Tour: Otaegui with birdies on assembly line

Spaniard Adrian Otauegui took a lot of work from him in the final round: he had to catch four strokes behind Wallace, playing consistently. Otaegui wasted no time – five birdies on the front nine, no loss of stroke! You can see in the early stages that the Spaniard can actually score low. A 27-year-old man from San Sebastian stayed on the gas even though he caught the first and only bogey on lane 10. He counted stroke losses with three consecutive birdies. Two more victories sealed 63 rounds (-9) and 23 with a win.

However, Matt Wallace would be offended by not using his good starting position. The British are convincing to win with 65, 67 and 66 strokes in the last few days, and “only” brought a 71 (-1) to the clubhouse (19 under) in the final round. He initially had to accept a bogey, two left behind 8 and 10.

Long with a nice finish

The two Germans finish the tournament behind the leaderboard. Harley Long (-4 total) tied for 51st – leaving St Andrews with a decisive final round of 69 strokes. Marcel Schneider has also shared 65th with par for the tournament.
