• Scotland: Free by law for products for the menstrual cycle
  
  With the entry into force of the Period Products Act, from 15 August, Scotland is the first country to require local authorities and educational institutions to establish the right to free access to menstrual products within established conditions. The law aims to remove the financial barriers that force the most disadvantaged women into social isolation and absenteeism from school and work.
• ISA: Progress on Ocean Mining Regulation
  
  During the 27th Assembly of the International Seabed Authority (ISA), which concluded on 4 August in Kingston, Jamaica, the states entered into an agreement to ensure that “any mining activity is subject to concrete, clear and comprehensive safeguards. To protect the marine environment”, said Sanjay Nanwani, head of the Singapore delegation on the sidelines of the meeting. The delegates noted “substantial progress” towards regulating the exploitation of mineral resources in the ocean floor.

  It is possible to enroll in the Master in Sustainable Human Resource Management organized by the European University of Rome in collaboration with ASVIS until 30 September. The course, which will be conducted in a blended learning mode, is aimed at young graduates and professionals who wish to acquire the skills to manage people and teams in companies and organizations in the name of sustainability.
• Corso Arco: Creating the 2030 Agenda for Territories
  
  Registration for the training course on Geographic Information Systems (GIS) organized by the Arco di Pin Scrull of the University of Florence in collaboration with ASVIS is open until 11 September. GIS is an essential field analysis tool for public administration and for every figure involved in planning sustainable local policies focused on the specifics of places.
• Sustainability Education Week 2022: Applications are underway
  
  Applications from institutions and organizations to participate in the Sustainability Education Week, promoted by Cnesa2030 under the auspices of the Italian National Commission for UNESCO, are open until 14 November. The initiative will be held from November 21 to 27 on the theme “Energy and Food Autonomy, a Road to Peace and Climate Justice”. ASviS is part of the initiative’s scientific committee.
• Working in International Cooperation: Coupe Course
  
  It is possible to apply for training courses for the roles of “Project Leader” and “Project Administrator” within the School of International Cooperation, promoted by the humanitarian organization KOPI, by 16 September. The goal is to provide and hone the skills of key individuals in the humanitarian emergency and development sector, so that they can intervene in difficult contexts.
