The Ministry of Education has confirmed that a student from Yio Chu Kang Primary School has been diagnosed with the virus.

The ministry said that he was not infected at school and the virus was contracted to a family member.

The student last went to school on Monday (May 10).

He did not attend school on Tuesday (May 11) due to ill-health.

After going to the doctor, the infection was confirmed yesterday.

The ministry said that cleaning work was done in the school premises.

Those affected students who were in close contact have been identified and separated.

They will be isolated by the 24th.

Also, all will be tested for germs.

In this case, the Ministry of Education said that the school would change from home to study system from tomorrow till the 18th.

The ministry said it was in contact with the school to support teachers and students in implementing the online learning system.

It said that it is monitoring the situation and reminds all students and staff to follow good hygiene practices.
