An Israeli health ministry official sent him a four-time misleading message to quarantine his former partner, stating that he was quarantined to come into contact with people infected with the new coronovirus.

According to police, the suspect is an “outside associate, who worked in one of the call centers of the Ministry of Health”. He texted his ex-girlfriend four times, asking her to quarantine immediately as she had contact with confirmed cases of Kovid-19. Of course, this was not the case.

Each time the woman questioned the need to raise questions, a fact that raised suspicion in the Ministry of Health. The information collected by the authorities has been submitted to the judiciary and the 35-year-old employee can be prosecuted. She is already being investigated for numerous abuses, such as abuse of power, fraud and breach of privacy.

Because of the epidemic, more than two million Israelis have been forced to live in severe isolation for 14 days, since the onset of the health crisis. Currently more than 180,000 people are under compulsory quarantine.

In late December, Israel imposed another lockdown, a third, due to an increase in cases. According to the latest Health Ministry report, more than 524,000 cases and 3,846 deaths have been reported in the country.
