Piers Morgan: the guest of “Good Morning Britain” awaits the results of the Covid-19 tests

Piers Morgan says his friend President Trump is 'failing the American people'

Morgan said in a Sunday tweet that he had noticed a “mild” symptom of the virus and that he had tested it “very carefully”.

He previously hosted the show by the ITV studio. The edition of the Monday program was instead presented by Ben Shephard, together with the regular Morgan host Susanna Reid.

Morgan has become a prominent face of British coronavirus coverage in recent weeks, receiving both praise and criticism for his fighting style when interviewing government figures.

Last week, the former newspaper editor and CNN host famous authorized by the UK media watchdog Ofcom, after viewers complained of his interviews with Health Minister Helen Whately and Health Secretary Matt Hancock.
Whately said to Morgan, “You’re yelling at me and you’re not giving me a chance to respond” during a conflicting video conference interview on the lack of tests and personal protective equipment (PPE) in British nursing homes.

Morgan later stated on Twitter that the interview “probably wasn’t as” uncomfortable “as our unprotected frontline heroes and health workers are going through.”

The coronavirus pandemic has also turned Morgan into a critic of American President Donald Trump, whom he previously described as a friend.

“He’s turning these briefings into a self-exhilarating, self-justifying, overly defensive, politically partisan, almost like a rally for him – almost as if what’s most important is winning the election in November,” Morgan told CNN on last month.

On Twitter he separately told Trump to “stop whining, get serious and show some empathy” on Covid-19.
