Scotland shook by a 3.1 magnitude tremor

Scotland was woken by tremors in homes last night as a magnitude 3.1 earthquake struck the country.

Shocked residents reported the disruption on social media shortly before 2 pm on Tuesday.

The epicenter of the quake is believed to be near the town of Lochgilfed and is estimated to have a magnitude of 3.1.

Residents of the surrounding area said that their houses shook during the quake.

One of them said, “There’s nothing like an earthquake that should shake you. It’s the biggest I’ve felt. The whole house shook.”

He continued: “I’m in Tarbert Argyll. I’ve never felt so big, everything in my room shook.”

Someone else wrote: ‘The Argyll earthquake occurred about 7 km from Lochgilfed and was felt throughout Argyllshire. A possible magnitude of 4.2 that makes sense for the duration of the journalist. ,

The United States Geological Survey declared the earthquake a 3.1 km deep earthquake.

It will have hit about 11 miles northwest of Lochgilfed at 1:44 a.m.

Britain’s latest earthquake comes a month after the quake was felt in North Wales.
