Nicola Sturgeon’s fourth consecutive electoral victory for SNP separatists, but not an absolute majority in the Edinburgh parliament, in the British Local Consultation, Scotland’s key vote. At the end of the vote, the Prime Minister’s Scottish National Party (SNP) won 64 seats in the Horrod Parliament (+1 compared to the 2016 elections), just one seat by an absolute majority. The Conservatives win 31 (unchanged), Labor 22 (-2), the Greens 8 (+2) and the Liberal Democrats 4 (-1).
Sturgeon, now nothing is appropriate for a referendum – First Minister and SNP leader Nicola Sturgeon believes there is “no justification” that could prevent a new referendum for Scotland’s independence from the United Kingdom. Commenting on the election results, Sturgeon quoted the British media as saying that the Scottish Parliament has an “undoubtedly pro-independence majority”. Sturgeon said “there is no justification for Boris Johnson or anyone else attempting to block the Scottish people’s right to decide their future,” while the counting of votes still continues. “Any Westminster politician who wants to get in the way, I say two things: first, don’t get into a confrontation with the SNP, but with the democratic desires of the Scottish people. Second: You will not succeed.” The one who can decide the future of Scotland is the Scottish people, and no Westminster politician can get it that way, “he warned.”
