Scotland will host Japan in a rugby test in November, the first meeting since the Japanese won a group match between the two countries at the 2019 Rugby World Cup.

Brave Blossom will make two tours of Scotland this year as they face the British and Irish Lions at Murrayfield on 26 June before the latter streak in South Africa.

Scotland will host Japan in a test at Murrayfield on 20 November, bringing the curtain down on the Scottish autumn series.

Prior to this, the better team of Gregor Townsend will play in Australia on 7 November and South Africa on 13 November.

“Japan were announced today as Scotland’s opponents, joining Australia and South Africa en route to Murfield in November,” a Scottish rugby statement read on Thursday.

Brave Blossom, who will face the British and Irish Lions at the same venue on Saturday 26 June as preparation for their next tour, will face Scotland for the first time since a 2019 Rugby World Cup group match. In A Yokohama, the hosts won a 28- Won by 21.

“After the matches against Australia and South Africa have been announced on 7 and 13 November respectively, Scotland’s match against Japan will be played on Saturday 20 November.”
