Swale now has the highest COVID-19 infection rate in England.
The Kent borough reported 631.7 cases per 100,000 people from seven days to November 18, according to an analysis by the PA News Agency.
425.8 cases per 100,000 have been reported in the last seven days.
Swale Borough Council, an emergency meeting was to be held today to monitor the situation.

Council leader Roger Trulove said the recent rise in cases was a “significant cause for concern”, adding that “people are still frustrated by not wearing face masks or not keeping their distance when they want to”.
The Justice Department, meanwhile, said that in the wake of “many positive cases”, precautionary measures were being taken in the district, at Swaleside, Stanford Hill and Alley Prison, all located on Shappy Isle.
The Kent district of Thane also saw an increase in its coronavirus case rate from 460.8 per 100,000 people to 515.1 in the seven days from November 18.
The local authority area, which covers the cities of Margate and Ramsgate, is now the fourth highest rate in England.
South Thane MP Craig McKinley said he had tried to get “rational clarification” from health officials about the additional reasons, but had “no answers”.
The Conservative MP said: “As a country, we are particularly good at collecting data and statistics, but I am very disappointed.
“There is no publication of the age stratification of infected people, nor does it take care of homes, hospitals, schools, shops, places of worship or households due to poor adherence to possible sources of infection – rules and guidelines? Or is it none of this?
“I find it hard to believe that East Kent residents are different in their approach anywhere else. There must be an underlying reason. ”
Hull has the second-largest covid-19 rate in England, while the figure has dropped from 785.3 per 100,000 people to 615.1 in seven days from November 1815.
Lincolnshire, meanwhile, has the third-highest coronavirus case rate on the coast of East Lindsey, down slightly from 517.9 in the same period.
The latest figures show that only two out of nine areas in England have a week-to-week increase = London and the South East are the most reported areas.
