TookThe Polish operator operating the Druzhba pipeline found no signs of sabotage that would be linked to the leak detected on Tuesday evening. Druzhba is the main pipeline bringing Russian oil to Germany.
According to Polish operator Pern, the leak was observed on a line of links to Germany in central Poland.
Technicians were on the spot. There is no evidence of third party involvement, Pern said. A detailed analysis is still awaited to be able to quickly repair the conduit.
The construction of the Druzhba oil pipeline began in the early 1960s and today spans a network of 5,500 km in length. It transports oil from the Urals to refineries in Poland and Germany. Another branch of Druzhba sends Russian oil to Hungary, Slovakia and the Czech Republic.
