A capital achievement and an aggressive lesson. The 2021 Six Nations tournament began on Saturday with a surprise win (12–6) for Scotland in England followed by a resounding win (50–10) for France in Italy.

Wales and Ireland faced off in Cardiff on Sunday at the end of the first day (15:00 GMT).

. France made a bang

Display. Seven tries, 40 points ahead … Serious and hardworking, France’s XV crushed Italy (50-10) to best launch the 2021 tournament. Worn by Antoine DuPont XXL, the Blues took 49 minutes to get offensive bonus points, Dylan Cretin (6th), Gayle Fickau (26th), Arthur Vincent (29th) and Bryce Dulin (49th) for the D’Is Enter one test each.

With a teddy Thomas who has regained his wings and an Arthur Vincent has asserted himself, the men of Fabian Galthy have no feelings against the very rhythmic Italians. Squadra Azazura is still chasing the first success in the tournament since February 2015.

The French will have an opportunity to confirm next week in Dublin against Ireland. Italy is going to England.

. Monumental Scotland

Historical! The Scots won for the first time since (11-6) in England … 1983. The Five Nations tournament was then won by France with Serge Blanco, Pierre Barbier and Jean-Pierre Rives. One hundred and fifty years after their first protest, the British rubbed their feet and gave the oldest trophy of the World Rugby, the Calcutta Cup, to their best enemy.

Scottish captain Stuart Hogg, however, promised that he and his compatriots would break the Indian signal. But he was probably one of the few to believe it. Brilliant with solidarity and generosity, Gregor Townsend’s men misused the premises. And it was Duhan van der Merwe (29th), a South African winger who made the difference.

Eddie Jones, he can bite his fingers: His England team, already struggling against French reservoirs, is stabilizing in the Autumn Nations Cup final in December. Unable to react with courage as a Scotland team, the vice-world champions did not do justice to their position. In the end, the XV du Chardon did not tremble until Racing 92’s opener Russell received a yellow card for the ill-fated trip (37th). a feat.
