Appointed Anas Sarwar as leader of Scottish Labor Party

Mr Sarwar’s appointment came in January following the shocking resignation of Richard Leonard, who said it was in the party’s best interest to step down.

After taking over from Kezia Dugdale, Mr. Leonard was the leader of the party for three years.

In a speech to members following the announcement, Mr. Sarwar thanked Ms. Lennon for a campaign that “showed the best of our party, not the worst of our policies”.

Talking directly to voters, he said: ‘I know the Labor Party has a lot of work to do to regain your trust because if we are sincerely honest you did not get the Scottish Labor Party that you deserve.
