BigSound 2020 is clicking the switch on the A-L-Digital program.

Earlier, the Australian Industry Conference and Showcase event was postponed to almost two months with the condensed COVIDsafe format, which lasted from October 21 to two days and nights.

“We feel like we’re taking care of an industry-owned event,” said Angela Samut, CEO of Cumusic. Billboard In mid-July.

“It’s an export event,” noted Summit, whose organization produces an annual event in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley, which is now entering its 19th year. “That’s our difference.”

This is the epidemic year, unpredictable.

With the coronavirus hotspot blowing off Australia’s east coast, the local border has been closed and the city of Melbourne will enter a second lockdown, Bigsound organizers announced on Thursday (Sept. 3) that this year’s edition will turn into a free, virtual event.

Although the live display is suspended, those performance slots will now go headline. BigSound Festival co-programmers Dom Miller and Ruby-Jean McCabe, along with First Nations programmer Alethia Beatson, co-wrote “BigSound 50.” The best artist will select the apps to showcase the next generation of local talent to happen.

“BigSound has always been about bringing our business and the arts community together and while we hope to be in our spiritual home in Fortune Valley Live Music Seam, other arrangements have been made in 2020,” Summit explained in the update.

“It has never been more important for the Stream Australian industry to come together to focus on survival and the future with mainstream conference programs, professional development and mental health activities as well as programs that introduce the BigSound 50.”

This year’s program will focus on “Connection, Existence and Futures Again in the Global Music Community,” with a full program to be released in late September.

Delegates who purchase tickets to the physical event will receive a full refund with free digital registrations open from today bigsound.org.au.
