24 teams, 6 groups, 26 players

A total of 24 teams will take part in the 2021 European Football Championship. 20 of them were determined through European Championship qualification, the other four through the 2018/19 UEFA Nations League play-off tournament. In the group stage, teams play in groups of six from A to F. Germany is in Group F.

The final EM squad for this EM may consist of 26 instead of the usual 23 players; Three of them should be goalkeepers. With this, UEFA wants to reduce the risk that teams may have too few players for some games if positive COVID-19 test results come in and players have to leave.

However, a maximum of 23 players are still allowed for the team on the day of the respective match, three of whom must be goalkeepers. So there are still a maximum of twelve possible options available.
